SPEECH BY SHEIKH DR. ABDUL RAHMAN AL SUDAIS ON THE LAST 10 DAYS OF RAMADAN TODAY AT MASJID AL HARAM 20TH RAMADAN 1441AH

SPEECH BY SHEIKH DR. ABDUL RAHMAN AL SUDAIS ON THE LAST 10 DAYS OF RAMADAN TODAY AT MASJID AL HARAM 20TH RAMADAN 1441AH Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barkatuhu… In the name of Allah, the most beneficent the most merciful, Praise be to Allah, the Cherisher and Sustainer of the worlds, and may the blessings of Allah be upon our beloved Prophet, our leader (and the one whom we always look up to) Muhammad bin Abdullah, his families, his companions, and his followers. Dear Muslims, we congratulate you on witnessing the last ten days of Ramadan, we ask Almighty Allah with His Beautiful Names and glorious Attributes that it becomes the last ten full of blessings (to us) and may Allah accept our deeds, our fast, our prayers and may Allah grant us the zeal to wake up for Prayers in Night and may we witness Laylatul Qadr (night of power), and may Allah make us among those who will wake up to pray with belief and reckoning because he is the most generous and bountiful. My dear Muslim (brothers and sisters), the honor of the last ten days are not hidden, the Holy Prophet (PBUH) used to be steadfast in worshipping Allah more than what he does in the other days of Ramadan, this is evident from the Hadith on the authority of Aisha (RA) she says “The Holy Prophet (PBUH) use to strive harder in worship in the last ten days (of Ramadan) more than what he does in the other days (of Ramadan), on her (Aisha) authority again she says when it is the last ten days of Ramadan, the holy Prophet (PBUH) does not sleep in the night, and he wakes his family members on the need for prayers…” So, therefore, my Muslim brothers & sisters there is a need for us to strive more earnestly within the nights of the last ten (blessed) days. Again, among the last ten days, there is a great night called Laylatul Qadr (night of power). The night that is worth more than a thousand (1000) months in worshipping, meaning good deeds in that night is more than good deeds in one thousand months (one night equals one thousand months). Therefore, there is a need for us to strive harder to get this night of blessings by fasting, by waking up in the night to pray, by reciting the Holy Quran, by doing many good deeds, giving out charity and a lot of supplications to Allah. On the Authority of Aisha (RA), she asked the Holy Prophet what I should be saying in the last ten days of Ramadan he answered and said; say “Allahumma Innaka Affuwun Tuhibbul Afwa Fa Afu Anni” This is a very powerful prayer and there is a need for us to say it a lot during the last ten days. We should also pray for ourselves, for the Ummah, for our leaders and our country. We should also seek refuge from Allah on spells, plagues, and pandemics in our blessed country, the Muslim countries, and the world in general. On behalf of Muslims, we congratulate and pray for our leaders, may Allah protect them, first among them is the custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the Crown Prince, may Allah reward them on what they offer Islam and the Muslim world. In conclusion, Brothers in Allah; there is a need for us to set our times in these blessed days, and its injustice and deprivation that some people waste their time in a way that does not benefit them, preoccupied with mobile phones and follow-up on social networking sites, instead, we should avail our time on reciting the Holy Qur’an, dhikr, seeking forgiveness, repentance, and supplication to Allah
